World Blood Donor Day 2026

The Hon'ble Governor of Nagaland Shri Nand Kishore Yadav attended the Observance of #WorldBloodDonorDay2026 as the Guest of Honour at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima. Addressing the gathering, the Governor emphasized the importance of regular voluntary blood donation in saving lives and building a safe, sustainable blood supply. He lauded the selfless contribution of voluntary blood donors and urged citizens, especially the youth, to come forward and make blood donation a regular act of service to humanity. "Every unit of blood donated is a gift of hope, compassion and life." The programme was organized by the Kohima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) in collaboration with the Voluntary Blood Donors Association Nagaland (VBDAN).
